Downgrading Your Plan

Updated 15 July 2026 2 min read

If your team's needs have shrunk, or you're on a higher plan than you need, you can move to a lower tier.

Before you downgrade

Take a look at the plan comparison to choose the tier that fits where your team is headed. If you're not sure how much room you need, check your current usage, it's a good indicator of what to look for in a new plan.

How to downgrade

  1. Open Team Settings by clicking your team name in the global bar.
  2. Within the team menu select the Billing option.
  3. Within "Manage Billing", click the Change Plan button.
  4. Select your new plan by clicking "Get Started".

Good to know

Only the team Owner and Administrators can change the subscription plan..

When it takes effect

Unlike upgrades, downgrades don't take effect right away. Your team keeps its current plan's features and limits until the end of the current billing period, then switches to the lower plan on your next renewal date. There's no partial refund for the remainder of the current period.

If you're over the new plan's limits

If your team's current usage is above what the lower plan allows, for example, more team members than the new seat limit, or more active projects than it supports, you'll be prompted to reduce usage before the downgrade can take effect. This typically means:

  • Deleting projects so the number of projects fits within the new plan
  • Deleting items within individual projects so the number of items per project fits within the new plan
  • Freeing up storage by removing unused media or files

You can check exactly where you stand on understanding plans and usage limits. Once your usage is within the new plan's limits, you can continue with your downgrade.

Good to know

You can cancel a scheduled downgrade at any time before it takes effect from the Billing tab.
