As your Media & Files grow, CollectContent gives you a folder structure, filters and search to keep every file easy to find, plus manual reordering so the files you use most sit exactly where you want them.
The sidebar and folder structure
The "Media" page in your project has a folder tree in the sidebar. Folders group related files together, for example, by campaign, asset type or shoot date, so your team isn't scrolling through one long, flat list.
- Open the Media Hierarchy: Select Media in the project navigation.
- Create a folder: Click the Create button, followed by Create Folder.
- Name it: Type a name and press Enter. The folder appears in both the sidebar and the content list. Folders will be created within the folder you are currently in.
- Nest folders: Drag a folder onto another folder to nest it.
- Move files in: Drag a file onto a folder in the sidebar, or right-click it and select Move.
Right-click any folder to rename or delete it. Deleting a folder doesn't delete its contents; everything is moved back to the project root automatically.
Filtering files
Filters narrow a long list of files down to exactly what you're after without changing how anything is organised.
Use the filter bar above the file list to narrow by:
- Name: show only content that matches the provided search.
- Uploaded by: show only files uploaded by specific team members.
Combine multiple filters at once and save a filtered view as a bookmark so you can return to it later.
Searching for files
- Search for files by name in the filters.
- Type a name or keyword: Search matches against file names.
- Select a result: Choose a result to jump straight to that file.
Good to know
The search filter searches only for files in the current view. If you want to search across all files, ensure you select "All Files" first in the left-hand sidebar.
Reordering files within a folder
Within any folder, you can put files in whatever order makes sense for your team, for example, the order you plan to publish them.
- Grab the file: Hover over a file in the list, then press and hold the left mouse button to begin dragging.
- Drag to a new position: Drop it where you want it. The list updates instantly, and the new order is saved automatically.
- Move a selection together: Hold
Shiftand click to select a range, orCmd/Ctrl+Clickto select individual files, then drag the whole selection at once.
Reordering only changes the position of files within their current folder. To move files elsewhere, see Moving a File to a Folder.
