A repeatable group of fields lets a template or component hold multiple entries of the same field group, rather than just one.
Instead of adding "FAQ question 1", "FAQ question 2", and "FAQ question 3" as separate fields, add a single FAQ field group and mark it as repeatable. Editors can then add as many FAQ items as the content actually needs. See Understanding templates, components and repeatable fields for an overview of how structures work in CollectContent.
Making a repeatable group
A group field lets you combine related fields into a block. For example, group a person's name, email, and phone fields together, or use it for an FAQ entry with a question and an answer field.
You can create repeatable groups by:
- Open the Structure: Select Structure in the project navigation.
- In the left-hand sidebar, select "Templates" or "Components".
- Click the Template or Component you wish to edit, or click the edit button .
- The editor will open, allowing you add fields and make changes.
- Add a "Repeatable Group" field to the editor.
- You can drag or add fields that you wish to be repeatable within the "Repeatable Group" field. For example, you can add a text field inside a repeatable group field.
- Click the settings button on the repeatable group.
- Toggle "Repeatable" to true.
- You can optionally set a maximum number of repeats that an editor can add.
- When you're finished, click "Save Changes".
