Updating the Template of a Piece of Content

Sometimes a piece of content outgrows its original template, or you realise it should have been built from a different one entirely. You can switch templates without starting over.

Changing assignees from the content hierarchy

  1. Open the Content Hierarchy: Select Content in the project navigation.
  2. Right-click a content item to open the options, or on mobile click the menu button .
  3. Click "Template" from the menu.
  4. In the dialogue, select the template for the content item.
  5. Click the "Save" button to save the content item.

Changing assignees from the editor

  1. Open the Content Hierarchy: Select Content in the project navigation.
  2. Click a piece of content to open the editor.
  3. On the content editor, click the settings button at the top of the editor header.
  4. Click "Template" from the menu.
  5. In the dialogue, select the template for the content item.
  6. Click the "Save" button to save the content item.

You can also update a content item template within the editor by clicking the template name on the left of the editor header and selecting a new template from the dialogue.

What happens to your content

Content entered into your previous template will be preserved. You can access this data at any time by either switching back to the previous template, or viewing your version history.
